Phuket Zoo
Visit Phuket Zoo during your stay here and enjoy a wonderfully different type of zoo. Lush tropical gardens invite you to stroll around in the shade of giant trees across bridges onto islands containing all kinds of strange animals. |
| |
New species of fish, birds and other animals are acquired each year as well as young from our various breeding programs. We exchange animals with other zoos to get rid of excess stock and bring in new blood. |
| |
Our well-trained staff will do their best to entertain you at the many shows and photo opportunities. Cold drinks and ice creams etc. are sold at several different locations around the extensive grounds so you can sit and rest during your visit. |

Monkey Shows
| |
This show is a lot of fun and a favourite with the children.Previously these monkeys worked as coconut pickers, which they can do very quickly by biting through the stem that holds the nut to the tree with their extremely sharp teeth. The show lets you see the skills of both the monkeys and their trainers. |
| |
The performance of adding and subtracting is really amazing and never fails to delight the children in the audience. |
| Different monkeys do different tricks, including diving for coins! |

| |
We use short-tailed macaque monkeys for this show. They are still a kind of common wild animal in Thailand. |

Crocodile Shows
| |
Crocodiles cannot really be tamed and basically remain wild dangerous animals that can eat people. This show is thrilling, nerve wracking and exciting. Watch the handler catch and hold a crocodile longer than he is! |
| |
The head in the mouth trick is rather worrying as you just don't know if today is going to be the trainer's last performance! An exiting display of bravado. Not suitable for people of a nervous disposition. |

Years ago the older elephants worked in the jungle pulling out logs. Now logging has been stopped and they have an easier life entertaining people. |
| |
Looking after the elephants are a lot of work, they eat truckfuls of grass each day! |
